Because we married and its our money,no matter who makes it. although he does have a problem spending money so we have in the past done an account with just my name on it even though hes the main bread winner. and he had a debit card re loadable but he knew my debit card pin for the account too. right now no banks accounts for either of us we always end up owning more money than we have even when we dont go crazy. oh well  were still young and new guess well figure it out eventually lol

whatever works for you, just make sure you have that discussion before you are married.

She still works, I don't anymore but we still just go in half and half. All money for our joint bills go into the joint account: Rent, household items, food, fun... all go into one account. We still have our own accounts for our personal stuff.

We have a joint account. I am retired he still works part time. All goes into the same accounts. But i control the checkbook. Don't knock it, it works for us. He will always ask if there is enough for something he wants and i make sure he can get it (sometimes.). We both know all bills come first. And there is a limit on credit cards for both of us.  Been married 19 years so guess we are doing ok.
