I have a 95 Jeep Cherokee that I can,t sell due to crazy gas prices here in California. Anybody have any gas saving tips.

Nope, used to have one in the family though and it guzzled gas.  There's no way to keep it from doing so from what I've seen, other than using certain driving techniques as you could with any car (doing the speed limit, coasting liberally, don't brake or accelerate hard, etc).

i have a ford winstar and love it. It gets good gas miles. confortable to drive and can store a lot in it when out shopping. But my truck on the other hand cost a lot to drive it is diesel. so don't use it much.

Nope, we have a Ford Expedition and it hurts every time we go to the gas station.

I own a white 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee and i love it, even though it does not get great gas mileage. It has a 4.0 liter six cylinder engine.

Make sure your tires are fully inflated and you keep up on oil changes and general maintenance.  I have an Explorer that is older, but I use it for work, so the high gas prices are part of doing business.  I won't even try to sell it until the engine falls out or something... used SUVs aren't too popular right now.  Good luck with yours.

I still have too much life left in my 2003 Camry to let it go but I will be in the market for an SUV when it finally dies. I am considering the Rav4, Venza or Honda CRV.

Well I don't own an SUV but it seems maybe you could buy an older smaller commuter car for times when you don't need the big suv. Only use the SUV when you take family trips or for the whole family. There is always public transportation or riding a bike when it is nearby that could help. Also planning your trips in the car together like if you have to go to work anyway pick up groceries on the way back so you have one less trip in the vehicle. You will have to decide what methods will work for you and your family.

I have an SUV, a 2007 Ford Escape, but I don't have any ideas as to how to get better gas mileage. I get pretty good mileage with mine, about 25mpg, but that's because it's only a 4 cylinder.

I sold the Jeep and bought a 94 Ford Explorer. What a change. I get 20 mgp on the freeway now.

I'd also try carpooling, offering to help others on their cost by sharing it.  Agree with watching the air in yours tires.  And don't believe anything you get told about leaving the car running, that is takes more fuel to start than it does to leave running.  Not true in the cars built after 90s.  Always turn the car off.
