Does anyone listen to online radio theaters?
« on: June 28, 2012, 06:21:02 am »
MysteryShows.com or Old Time Radio is one of my favorite forms of entertainment to help pass the time away in a beneficial manner. Have learned to appreciate radio shows and performers of past decades such as E.G. Marshall, Richard Widmark, Cicily Tyson, and Andy Griffith as presenters and narrators in shows like The Sears Radio Theater and The CBS Radio Mystery Theater.

Growing up there were some radio programs that I listened to - the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and the original Star Wars trilogy - all done as radio programs.  They were awesome.   I got 2 of the Star Wars ones on cassette tape (Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back).  I like to pull them out sometimes to listen to them.

I also recorded the re-broadcast of the original "War of the Worlds" radio episode - can't recall what show it was a part of.  After listening to it, I can understand why so many people would have freaked out listening to it.  Very well done!

I do, that is if they regularly air it at a specific time during the week. If I like their radio drama, I can quickly become a fan.

I do occasionally. I like the Sci-Fis. X Minus One is a favorite of mine. The detective shows are pretty good as well. Hundreds to listen to.

I remember listening to a lot of radio drama as a child.  But didn't know it was available on internet.  I'll have to look into it.
