My smartphone with my data plan has been helpful for on demand comparison shopping, on demand misc researching, navigation (although I was exactly lost most of the time), a productivity tool for work and so on.

I don't know about saving money, but it is so convenient to have the internet at your fingertips at all times.  Like if I am biking or walking somewhere than forget a direction...Boom...look up the directions on my Iphone than I'm all set instead of the stress of walking/biking around aimlessly.

I have both an iphone and an Android.  I have been trying to transition over to the IPhone over the last few months because I believe that it dominates the market.  I love both.  I do spreadsheets on both of my daily income from PTC's, surveys and other sources of income and monitor the income on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.  The spreadsheets allow me to monitor what I am doing, try to exceed the previous period's income and highlights the need to add additional streams of income.  I have long since taken the games off of my phones as playing with money is so much more productive. I also have wallet/safe applications on to keep track of my bank accounts.

I can do just about everything I can do on my smartphone that I can do on my computer. I also get mobile coupons and have used it to pay less money at stores that do price matching

I use it for navigation all the time especially to track my walks/runs

I also get an extra $20 a month for having apps downloaded to my phone and have gotten to participate in other surveys that involve doing tasks on my phone

I also loving being able to access the internet any time I want

If my smartphone was smarter it would be more beneficial to me. I didn't know what to look for when I bought it (actually got it free, that was my first mistake) Now I know what I want in my next phone. I won't get a new one until the holidays though so i just try to make due with what I have

I actually had to use the Navigation on mine, yes I was lost, and I was out in the country where there wasn't anyplace to stop to ask for directions, I hadn't ever used my phone for that before and wasn't even sure of how to do it, but it talked me thru it and got me where I needed to be! Loved it!

My smartphone helps me in so many ways I'm sure I can't enumerate them all.  I have been using my Smartphone for so long as my phone, calendar, data manager that it is now part of my life. Over the last few years the newer features like, WIFI, maps, browser searching, etc. has become invaluable.  I can do a small subset of almost anything I can do on my computer.  Very helpful!

My smartphone is my GPS, MP3 player, e-book reader, portable gaming device, digital camera, digital camcorder, flashlight, calculator, and internet browser all rolled up into one device. (Did I mention that it has phone and texting capabilities too?)
