This is the real racism

There's been so much media condemnation of George Zimmerman for shooting a black teenager, even though in self defense, just because the kid was black, and they are trying to make it a "hate crime". But when a bunch of black thugs beat up a white man, and admit that "Now that's justice for Trayvon," the charge is only assault. Why is it a "hate crime" when a white shoots a black, but not a hate crime when blacks beat up and severly injure a white? This is plain racism, as well as hypocrisy. Of course, there are many similar examples, but I just happened to notice this one. Here's the internet link:

The people in this country really need to wake up. This whole Zimmerman case has been blown way out of proportion, and it seems like the media is doing it on purpose to start a race war. Could it be that they are looking for a catalyst to give Obama an excuse to declare martial law?

it's blown out of proportion because the police took zimmermans word as selfdefense.  when does anyone do that? there has to be a investigation!  the 911 dispatcher told him not to presue but he did anyway he was so much bigger than trayvon why couldn't he just get on top of him and not shoot the poor guy?  thats why everyone is so mad, the cops did nothing.  IN the police report everything was written as the african american boy why not just the victim? there's a lot about this case that was done wrong everybody just wants justice

I am on your side with this issue. I feel Zimmerman acted outside of his authority and the subsequent shooting is something he must answer for (if it was self defense, the trial will bring that out)  HOWEVER... these two facts you have listed have proven to be incorrect

1) He was told not to follow.... Early news coverage would have you believe he ignored instructions not to follow. BUT, later the full, unedited transcript of the 911 call were released. Dispatcher tells him "we don't need you to do that" (in reference to following trayvon)  Zimmerman's RESPONSE is "ok"

2) Trayvon was not a small man.  He wasn't the 12 year old boy CNN would love you to think. He was a FOOTBALL player.  Arguable stronger and in better shape than Zimmerman.

They won't be charged with hate crimes, even though they should be. The investigators are treating it just as an assault. Has there ever been a black charged with a hate crime?

First of all black people and white people are a whole diffrent bees that's just a fact... So deal with it... Second there are about 70% blacks in jail and 30 other races in the united states. Out of that 60 % 40% are in there for black on black crime. Black people don't care about that as long as its not a white guy committing a crime then it's a hate crime and let's start rallying? It's like blacks don't care about anything that doesn't hurt their race in any way if it doesn't then they don't care. Most black people are about self and not helping others. Now that's not to say they aren't polite. Second white people are scared pu***es... We don't take a stand for nothing. Black people if try really want something they rally and get it. That's smart i guess cause they do get their way if they really want. On face book I saw so many white folks putting up pics of some guy and girl that got killed by some black guys but didn't say nothing about it or put a headline or status on it they just put the pic up. I mean come on white people if you got a problem say something about it don't be scared and just put a pic up. The sad thing is everyone draws their own opinion about what happened and only Zimmerman and Martin know what happened... Tradgedy tho that a young guy lost his life. That's my opinion on it. Blacks are lazy when it comes to carin about stuff until something pisses em off then they rally and get what they want and white people are scared to death to say anything about anything bc they're scared they are gonna step on toes. I'm white and one of my best buddies is black me and him have a business together...

And there was an investigation. There just wasn't enough evidence to charge him with crime. Public pressure was the reason for him being charged now.

The media will always try to instigate violence because the rumors of race-related problems will always detract the sheep of this country as to the true war getting ready to erupt.  The one between the classes.  It has been said in recent studies that the most violent group of people growing in this country is 17-25 y/o white males who feel disenfranchised with the "American Dream" that no longer applies to them.  A class war will be the most violent thing this nation has ever seen.  It would be smart of the media to pit whites against blacks and vice-versa.  What we really need to do is stand together as Americans, not as races.  Then we really can make a "change you can believe in"

I really wish that there wasn't any such thing as a "hate crime". Which is worse, someone getting killed or a crime being committed out of racial hatred? It just seems like priorities are skewed. I can see racial hatred as being a motive in a murder and as such would elevate the murder from a lesser degree to a murder 1 charge, but that is as far as that should go. If you were to ask the victim's family of a black on black (or white on white) crime, I'm sure they wouldn't be saying "at least it wasn't a hate crime"; rather I think they'd be hurting from the loss of their family member's life regardless of who committed the crime.

I do think that the Trayvon situation was wrong. In this country we have 3 branches of government: the legislative to make the laws, the executive to enforce the laws, and the judicial to make judgments on the laws; unfortunately in this case it seemed like the police were trying to over-step their responsibilities and powers. A person was killed by another person, and they knew who the killer was. Zimmerman should have been arrested and brought to trial. It is at trial where it should have been decided whether any laws were broken, and if so what the punishment should have been. It seemed like the police (the executives of the law) decided not to do there own job but rather play the role of judge in deciding whether any laws were broken before gathering evidence in a full blown investigation. Whether Zimmerman acted out of self-defense, whether the dispatch told him to not pursue, whether Trayvon could have been threatening enough to force Zimmerman to shot and kill in self defense, etc. are all issues that should have come out in trial, not something that should have stayed the hand of the police.

Give it a rest.  What is a neightborhood watch individual doing carrying a gun?  He killed the kid, yet so many thinks he should get away with it.  Racial or not, the man was wrong and justice must be served.
