I've been on MTurk for a while. I really love it. I used to do the Gaddy HITs but when he closed shop I've gone over to teaching myself transcription.

If you're new on MTurk, just be sure to use Turkopticon so that you don't work for any shady requesters.

Thanks yeah I've been earning good money on there and thank I downloaded it and that's great only problem is most people that have the higher payin ones only have a few reviews so if one person gives them a bad review it can skew their rating. I did 5 1000 word surveys the other day for a guy after I downloaded the bar it showed his rating bad but he's paid on 4 of 5 so far. I emailed him to ask if he liked my writing and he said he was looking for a different style of writing and was going to block me on future hits like that but paid me too... I emailed him and asked him what style he wanted but I'm glad he paid

Yeah,  you definitely have to take the reviews with a grain of salt. There are people who just plain cannot follow directions, and then ultimately get rejected, writing all 1 reviews. On the other hand there are also people giving 5's to requesters who pay for jobs that work out to $1.00 per hour.

But all in all I use it and won't work for someone who has consistent bad reviews. Also I won't work for jerks like that guy you described who said he's going to block you. He's too lazy or uninformed to set up and use qualifications, so instead he's putting your account at risk with a block.
