It's started! What are people "giving up"?

I'm not giving anything up this year.  I'm "taking on" instead - praying each morning which is something I used to do but kind of stopped doing, so it's really a renewal of that spiritual discipline for me.

I'm not really religious and didn't "give up" anything this year, but I've done it in the past just to kind of test myself. I gave up soda one year and actually got withdrawal headaches from the lack of caffeine!

I want to help the poor by donating to charity.

I don't give up anything on lent.  I have already given up so much that it should last a lifetime.

Every so often I give up some of my time to deal with this.  But it doesn't really take me that long to clean the lent out of my dryer so it doesn't really get to me.
