How wonderful for those of you who had parents that made and were able to afford lunches and breakfast for you daily.  But there are circumstances where every child does not have that....In our area the food is also getting to be more and more nutritious, by parental demand.  Also, I believe if they start the kids off in grade school with healthy and tasty food, there would be a lot less problems with health and weight by the time they get to middle and high school age, and they will be use to the GOOD school food.  Many schools have very poor nutruition and taste that  they try to serve now. It should not be that difficult to make the lunches good tasting and good for you!

There is no "free lunch" as someone is paying for it.  I don't have a problem with the truly needy getting a free lunch but I do have a problem with most of the kids getting it.  People are going to have to start taking care of themselves because over half of our population is living off of the government and the government is head over heels in debt and getting worse daily.  It doesn't take a lot of money to pack a sandwich each day.

I think it's a good idea. some children have no way to pay and it helps promote wellness and good nutrition.
