How many calories should an average person consume in a day 1,000 or 2,400 cal.

I have been trying to lose some weight and try to consume less than 1,200 per day.  It seems to be working.  But a person that works hard needs to have more intake.  It depends on the type of work a person does I guess. :cat:

i've heard that 1,500 to 2,000 calories a day is supposed
to be the average. the lesser of the two is especially for
losing weight.

The goal is to burn more calories than you consume if you are trying to lose weight. The average person burns 1,200 calories per day just by sleeping/breathing/living. Therefore if you consume 1,200 you will burn those off no matter what. Any calories you burn after that will help you lose weight. Hope this helps

Depends on age, height, weight, level of activity, etc.  Do a search for "calorie calculator".  I use the one on freedieting website.

Women are closer to the lower side, men closer to the higher side.
