Well, I hope this is okay to post, but I think it is really touching to be in that moment and remember all of the people who made us who we are today!  THANK YOU TO ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL!!  You are appreciated, especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

DISCOVERED THE VIDEO HER
FATHER SHOT.

Great video of a Spontaneous Victory Parade in Honolulu in 1945. Take
a look at this video-absolutely fabulous! Notice the cars, jeeps, and
youth. The guys in khaki or gray shirts and black ties are Navy
officers or chiefs. The rest are Army or Marine. How young they all
were to do what they did.
This guy really captured a moment in history! (You can listen to Jimmy
Durante singing "I'll be Seeing You" in the background, too) This is a
super video of a time past - we need to remember and be THANKFUL.
Check out the color fidelity. It's not bad for 1945. Nothing will ever
compare with Kodachrome film.

I plan to take it easy and get some rest, as we will be returning from a trip to Virginia. There's nothing like spending a quiet day at home.

As a formerly active-duty member of the Armed Forces; thank you for remembering what the holiday is for.  That said, enjoy your weekend, BBQ or doing what you do to take some time away from other concerns.

One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

We ended up putting out the little American flags on relatives graves. My grandmother used to do this, but is not able any longer. We then got together at a family members lake house and grilled.

We usually go to wherever we are invited. This year, we had no invitation so we stayed home and played on the computer...
