You could try getting masks for everyone to wear.

In addition to sanitizing everything, I like to open the windows. I know that it is cold quite often during the winter where I live in CO, but I might crack many of the windows and put a stick in them so that the windows can't open more if a robber comes your way. Then, since you have elderly and very young people, go for a drive while you're airing the house out so that they don't get too cold. If you can be away for a couple hours, that might be best. When you get back, turn the heat back on.

They say that a house's air can be more toxic than the air on the most congested highway.

Labels on things to indicate who it belongs to?  That way people aren't accidentally using someone else's glass or utensils.  I'd take a look at the kids' toys myself.  Can you boil anything plastic, wash and dry any stuffed animals, etc.  That should kill some of the germs.

I also put toys that are similar to dishes through the dishwasher, bleach toys, get rid of bath toys regularly, etc. Toys and items that are made of cloth could go through the washer and dryer/line dry to further sanitize. Also, make sure pillow cases, blankets, etc are washed often.

Make sure you all wash your hands frequently. Teach the kids to sneeze and cough into their sleeves. The fabric absorbs the germs. Shower before and after each job. Make sure you take vitamins to keep your immune system up.

items that I have recently discovered and are worth researching to combat / prevent sickness  are the Moringa tree
( seeds; juice; tablets or capsules )which strengthens immune system, Germ a Clenz (NAHS) - oregano is a very powerful spice ....even against Nowalk Virus.[which is the worst] and a powerful cleanser,Hillyard Cleaning Products
Hillyard QT-TB. I have also read that cleaning with bleach is very very good. [ just don't get it on colored clothes.]

I am not sure I am qualified to answer this, considering I have laryngitis now for lets see, almost three weeks. Can't talk above a whisper. However, there are things that can help that I think at least work in normal people, unlike myself.
There is the old standby of hot fluids. Hot tea, hot soup, hot..oatmeal?(lol) Either way, heat helps clear up the sniffles. A long hot shower is always nice, but it usually only works while your -in- the shower. Still, its nice. I have been meaning to get a humidifier, which may help put some of the moisture back in the air and help you breathe a bit easier. Good ol fruits and veggies will at least make you feel like you are doing something right with your body, even if it doesn't have an immediate effect. Exercise helps, just do it moderately. If you are too sore and achy, limit it to just stretching. Keeping things as clean as possible helps, but if you think that your environment is a problem, it may be worth investing in an air cleaner. The good ones seem to have testimonials saying that the people who use it get sick less. I can't afford it yet myself, but when I get the money I'm getting one of those. One of the earlier posts mention wearing masks. Its a pretty good idea unless you are sneezing and coughing a lot, because the mask will wear out pretty quickly and become useless. (Personal experience there).  The last thing I can think of is to cut your stress level as much as possible. Stress makes the body more vulnerable to pretty much everything.

Besides all the other great suggestions to kill germs, etc, I would recommend that everyone get their nutrients.  Vitamin A is great for preventing and fighting infection.  Vitamin C could help flush toxins and strengthen immune system.  Hopefully, this information will be helpful.

Have a great day!

I worked in a hospital for over 20 years.  Unforunately for some particular illnesses (flu, cold, virus etc) the only real cure is time.  There are over the counter and prescription meds that can take care of most symptoms, but the typical cold or flu can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks or more to subside.  Good luck.
