Trying to stop cursing
« on: January 18, 2012, 04:41:08 pm »

Does anyone her curse like a sailor  :-X,
I know I can be guilty of it more times then not.
It is not something I am proud of :-[  so I am trying to stop.
IT IS DEFINITELY HARD.BUT I WILL DO IT
I have even started a SWARE JAR....it has change in it already.
I am at that age I feel that it is unladylike to be saying such words
I don't want to use it when I am upset not even in general conversation
I should be able to convey my thought without using a curse word.
Would like to know your thoughts on cursing!

Old habit is hard to break.  You are on the right path because you mentioned how you want to changed.  What trigger your thoughts to curse?  If it is fun at first, now its not funny.  You can changed by trying not say one curse word in a sentence.

I have a friend that literally... drops a bomb in every sentence. "Hey, man whats going on in your f**king life?" We make fun of him for it, but he seems stressed about something else. Perhaps you can find a activity that relieves stress?

I've got this nagging habbit of using pronouns. See there I go again! I just can't stop!

I let a few bad words go ever once in a while but always try to be kind with my mouth. :fish:

Pronouns?  What's wrong with them.  I use them often.  Beats referring to yourself in the 1st person.  That would be annoying.

OMG I do too and I need to quit.  I have a 14 month old son at home who has started to mimic words we say so I need to watch my mouth!  It is such a hard habit to break, I do it and not even realize I do it!!!

My sarcasm seems to have flown way over your head and probably everyone elses. I was making fun of the fact that people are way overly-concerned about things that has little significance.

The scary part is when you are talking and someone says...shhhh, watch your words, there are children around, and you don't know what you said out of line.

I don't use profanity unless I'm really upset. People tend to be surprised - particularly family and co-workers when I do, however. I tend to watch what I say and hate saying things vulgar on a normal basis.
