post office mail

We currently get mail six days a week but anticipate that number being reduced to five days a week.  Quite Frankly I could do with only getting mail once per month.  The United States Post Office is grotesquely inefficient.  When I do get mail it comes from my neighbors because my mail was delivered to the wrong house.  I have gotten a Post Office Box because I can dump all of the junk mail that I get right into the garbage before it starts accumulating.  E-mail has killed snail mail.

As far as I know, it has always been 6 days a week excluding Sundays. Have the government decided to shut down one day of mail delivery due to budget cuts?

Six days a week here, too.  I wouldn't mind them cutting it down to five days a week.  I also have to walk out to the end of my driveway to get my mail, and I hate doing so in the winter with snow and ice.  I sometimes let it accumulate a few days in the winter and will get it when I take my car out to go somewhere.

So far it is 6 days a week here.  But the post office to cut costs is lobbying congress to eliminate Saturday mail delivery.  Just in case you were not up to date.  The US postal service is a private contractor for the US government and not actually a part of the government like Amtrak.  Their claim is that they are losing money and need to cut costs and the easiest way to cut the costs is to eliminate Saturday delivery.

Always has been 6 days a week, I could see if the dropped it to 5 days, maybe even 3 days a week would be ok with so many paying their bills via internet and emails I could see where they would be loosing money.

            I get mail 6 days per week. The only problem is I get a lot of junk mail. I do not know where these companies get my name and address. There are a lot of hackers...and they will do anything to sell you something you do not want or need in order to make a profit.
