So with all the floods did your house get flooded?

The water was so bad in my basement that it came up to about mid-calf.  All the books on the bottom shelf of my bookcases got ruiened and anything in cardboard boxes had to be thrown out.

We got alot of rain really fast in our area a day or two ago and then it would let up only to come down really hard & fast again.  Some places in the area flooded and there were some power outages.  I was sort of hoping the basement where I live would flood really good because there is a guy living down there who legally should NOT be living down there.  Ordinarily I wouldn't care, I know times are tough but his being down there makes it impossible for me to get to the breaker box if I need to and I'm sick of his cigarette smoke, incense & loud friends.  So...flooding here, totally O.K.!!  ;D

I'm lucky and I live in a 2nd story apartment building. Unfortunately, my neighbors across the street who live on the bottom level actually live below ground level (at least part of their living space is below ground) so I saw them pumping out their rooms. :-(

from Hurricane Irene and then tropical storm Lee that visited the East Coast this past month we had some water damage on the 3rd floor of our home.  Thankfully no "flooding" but some damage to gutters and debris etc results in some water leaking through some walls --- what a mess!  but we wouldn't qualify for Flood insurance so glad it happenned this way as our home insurance is covering the repairs.
