Ok, so Im a stay at home mom mostly........I work part-time outside of the home, but my employer won't provide me with health insurance because I work under 40 hours a week. My husband works as a machinist and his company is small so they can get away with only paying for his health insurance and not his familys. ANYWAY! I went out and got individual health insurance for myself and my daughter from Anthem Blue Cross, but its ridiculus how much we have to pay per month for our premium--$600 a month!! And thats with a $500 deductible per person before they cover anything! Every single insurance company I apply for insurance with, digs and digs into my past (I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant-BUT I had my tubes tied after so I cant get pregnant again anyways so I will never have gestational diabetes again--but that doesnt matter to the insurance companies) and comes up with reasons for either denying me insurance, or accepting me but putting exclusions on my policy and raising the monthly premium beyond belief! So.......my question is this....does anyone know of any companies that offer their part-time employees health benefits?? I know that there are companies out there that do, I just cant find them. OR if anyone has any other suggestion for me, I would greatly appreciate it. I dont want to go back to work full-time at this point....my daughter is still young and I want to enjoy her and be home with her as much as I can!!
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Well your daughter can be on medicaid until shes 21. Its complete free and you never have to pay any co pyayments until shes 5 I think then the co -payments apply if you take her to the doctor because shes sick. No co payments if its just a regular visit/check up. You can be also on medicaid if your 30 or under (depends on your state) And even if you cant get medicaid there is this company called Ameri plan thats really cheap. For the Whole package (for everything, dental, health, er etc) its $49 for the month but you still have co payments but it covers the whole family. But research diffrent medicaid plans because they all dont offer the same. I love the program my sons on beacuse (peach state for GA) because he gets free rx, doctors visit, er, dental and even dental surgery (if he ever needs it) until hes 21.
