Tabasco or Texas Pete? Best Hot Sauce
« on: July 06, 2011, 11:41:17 am »
Best hot sauce Tabasco, Texas Pete, or another brand?
I don't really even consider Texas Pete hot sauce as you have to douse your food to get any semblance of heat, but to each their own.  Tabasco is my main stay.  For wings when I don't care if it's hot then Frank's Red Hot is pretty tasty.

Given those two choices I would definately go with Tabasco sauce.  I only like the green and red with my preference going to the green because of the tast (not so much because of the heat).  On wings I like Louisiana Hot Sauce.  I have been using Sricha (Thai hot sauce) as a condiment lately and truly love wasabi on my sushi.  Rare is it that I will use ketchup (tomato sauce) because I like salsa better.  I think that the hot sauces help speed up the metabolism a bit while Tomato sauces tend to put sugar in their recipes.
