The end of the world

As a very good professor and friend of mine once told me, "My mother once told me, 'I've been alive for 80 years, and since I've been alive, the world's been ending for 80 years.'"  In my lifetime, the world was supposed to end in 1994, 2000, 2001, 2004, and 2011 (once, which failed, and as for October 21st, that will fail as well).  It's also supposed to end in 2012 too.  I honestly don't see the world ending in my lifetime, or at any point beyond.

After Oct. passes, another date will come out!

I figure if it's the end of the world on a certain day, as it's been many times now, then if it ends I won't notice and if not then the next day is the beginning of the world again

I don't believe the preaching of Harold Camping and actually I don't really believe much in the rapture either. If we're putting weight on the Bible then the date cannot be determined.

No we have already survived 5 'end of the worlds' no one knows when it will come, any other predictions should be left just as that.

Are you equating the end of the world with the rapture? The rapture will take place, but the world still goes on for awhile.

The Bible says to "occupy" until He comes (Jesus). In other words, just live life and keep enjoying it for the gift it is. We are to live life abundantly. This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Each day is a blessing in itself, and we are to enjoy it.

He will come when it's time, and not a second sooner or later. While there may be prophetic signs of Prophecy being fulfilled, that doesn't mean that God is on our timetable or that we can predict when He will appear. Not even the Angels are given that information.

I believe we are living in the end times, but people in every past generation has believed that also. That's not going to keep me from living my life, and enjoying it to the fullest. God doesn't want us in a perpetual fearful doomsday mode. As Christians, we are ever watchful.....not fearful. I'm still looking for a car to buy, going to perm my hair in a couple months, visit my children/grandchildren, travel, fellowship with friends that are coming to visit from Alaska this Summer, do some crafts for the holiday bazaars coming up. You know........life!!

I feel sorry for all those people who sold their homes and emptied their bank accounts on the false prophesy of this man. Educate yourself in the Bible and what it actually says. Then when something comes up like this, you automatically know it's bogus.
