SHAME - a feeling or a state of being?
« on: May 08, 2011, 06:18:55 am »
What causes shame? None of us are immune to shame. like cancer, it is just part of our society and to often we fail to recognize the symptoms. It is painful and often attaches who we are to what we do, what we have or how we look. When we are ashamed, we must seek within to ask what the root cause of our shame is? Do we feel we do not measure up? Meassure up to what? Someone else's perspective?
We were all created by GOD for a specific purpose and when we fully find what our purpose it, we will be happy.

Belief in God creates shame.

Shame is when you allow the voices in your head representing what you think your friends, family, co-workers, etc.. would say to dominate your thoughts. Everything we think is through a lens created by society. The only way you won't feel shame is to listen to yourself and not what you think others would tell you.

It can be both. Whatever state of mind you allow your mind to be in. Either was it is not good. Your mind has to be transformed one way to do that is through the word of God.

We all have an egotistical side of us.  That's when "shame" kicks in.  If you live a spiritual life of loving intention and of your true self, you will never experience shame.
