If you think about the limited space in prison and deciding which types of people should be let out you find that it can be a tough decision. You don't want murders out, or thieves, or rapists, or child molesters, or drug dealers, or pimps, or gang leaders, etc...  How do you decide who stays in. You can do it by severity of the crime, the crime committed or how successfully you can rehabilitate the individual. There is a lot to think about I think the chemical castration is a good idea if consensual to allow for release after some time served in prison. If they do not agree to the procedure then it is life behind bars. Also I tend to think there is a difference in severity of the crime. A college kid who gets drunk at a party and sleeps with a girls who later claims rape is different than a girl walking home in the park and a man holding a knife to her while he rapes her. The punishment should differ based on the severity of the crime committed. As for molestation I don't think there is any excuse to do it and chemical castration may be the only option to keep them from doing it again.
