Okay, I've seen this topic throughout the forum, and as yet, no one's come up with a winning solution to see this happen for real. Great idea to be recognized for such a special day as your birthday. Of course, once you release that idea, then people are gonna want FC to celebrate their anniversaries, too. And then, why not offer an Easter, or Christmas bonus while we're at it. I think FC would be scared to ever let the ball out of the gate on this one. However, I'm an optimistic thinking - can't ya tell? hehe.

Here's how I think this COULD work. Rather than FC just forking over money on your birthday, they could have a continual OFFER. After all, OFFERS are what makes FC money. We've all seen places on the internet that allow you to send Virtual B-Day cards. Now, if we had an OFFER on FC for something like that, and then a contest each day to send cards out to people here on FC for their B-Day, then the person receiving the most E-Cards on their B-day from FC members would receive a bonus on their B-Day.

Example. let's say 100 people share my B-Day on 11/25. The names of those 100 people would be posted for the day on the forum, declaring that 100 people have a B-Day on 11/25. Now, the rest of us on FC would go complete the E-Card offer, choosing who they wanted to send an E-Card to. Whoever, out of the 100 B-Day people received the most E-Cards, would get a bonus from FC of $5.00, $1.00, or whatever was offered. But only ONE person would get the bonus, not everyone. Everyone else, including the winner, will have received E-Cards instead, so they are recognized.

The flip side could also be done. Those of the 100 people NOT Receiving an E-Card, would get a bonus from FC instead. Of course, that backfires. Because if we all know we'll get money from FC by not receiving any E-cards, then people would bother with the offer, and all 100 people would get cash from FC. So the reverse probably wouldn't work as well.

The idea is to team up an OFFER with a BONUS, so that it's a profitable venture for FC as well.

That sounds like a great idea. I know many companies like to give you free stuff on your birthday (movie theaters usually give you a free beverage, online shops usually give you a coupon code for a discount, etc). Or even if it was a small bonus to each user after being here for a year or something?

With FC having over 300,000 members according to the home page, I don't think it's going to happen.

@Linda67 I agree with you the cost would be prohibitive and we do not want FC to go bust It is a nice idea though I say leave well enough alone! ! !
