Isn't already that high in some places? People will just cut back in other areas to compensate. There does come a breaking point though and I fear we're quickly getting to that point.

Look what happened in 08 when gas prices were getting near 3/gallon and look at the economy today. Higher energy costs was a big reason "The great recession" happened. They're even higher now not due to supply/demand and such but oil is traded in dollars and it takes more dollars to buy oil.
