Of course.  I love people who are males and females.  Why would I choose to love just one gender? What a person looks like has nothing to do with love.

I think it would be a little weird to love based on gender! Then again, I suppose it would also depend on the type of 'love' we're talking about. The love for an animal isn't the same as the love for another human (at least, generally it isn't!). Also, loving a spouse vs. loving a sibling. Different types of love exist. While I don't believe in homosexuality being right, love, in general, should have nothing to do with gender.

Love (1) a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties <maternal love for a child> (2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection (Merriam dict.)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. (1 Cor. 13:4–7, NIV)

Two other words for love in the Greek language, eros (sexual love) and storge (child-to-parent love), were never used in the New Testament. (wiki)
"Make me believe."

No. However, lust on the other hand (if your talking about homosexuality)...........

Of course there are many different kinds of love for a mother, father, sister, brother, friend, etc. I have female friends that I love very much (I'm female), but do not love them romantically, nor could I ever!

Sure, we are made to love others and each love is unique.

I always say that you fall in love with people, and genitalia is just accessorizing.

I don't think gender plays any role in loving a person, whether it's platonic or romantic.
