from what i gather of the governments force-feeding healthcare upon us soon.... yes i'm actually in fear of what may happen in the future. Granted you can't exactly take care of yourself/spouse & family if your working a minimum wage job and have only one income involved but where is the money gonna come from when the across the board mandatory health insurance law goes into effect? not everyone is able to afford it and i don't see a plausible way for the government to pick up the tab without hurting future generations.

I'm less scared of future health problems than I was about 20 years ago.  I spent 27 years in the military, with about 23 years working as a health care professional (radiology and nuclear medicine).  I've seen many advances in medicine in that time frame that have convinced me that more and more cures are around the corner.  The life expectancy of humans has improved significantly in the last 100 years due to medical advances and I think this trend will continue considering our vast scientific improvements.

On a personal level I am. I am 37 yrs old, and have a bad back, neck and shoulders, which just seems to get worse as the years pass. I also have had arthritis in my fingers since my early 20's, which worries me on many levels, and has gotten worse over the years. I sometimes fear the day will come when I can not even pick up a pencil and draw, or write like I like to. I also have ruthmatory (however you spell it) arthritis in my knees, more so my left one, and already it is bad enough that walking up or down stairs can be painful, or cause them to give out. My mother had this too, and if she had not died at 47, the doctors had told her she would probably end up in a wheel chair within 10 yrs. I have other problems too, but these ones worry me the most, I am not looking forward to growing old because of these. On a "political" stand point, the state of issues with SSI, and medicare or etc... as it stands now, worries me as well. I only see it getting worse. If you listen to things said about it, supposedly by the time I am the age to receive it, it will not be around, or not available or etc... if things don't change. So this makes me think... how will I survive if and when there comes a point and I am truly unable to work because of health issues, or need extensive medical help, and it is not there? As it stands now, I have no medical insurance, so going to the doctors already is out of the question, I have to deal with or suffer through anything that is not worth a trip to the ER.
I Am Who I Am, If You Don't Like Who That Is, Then Go Away, Because I Will Still Be Who I Am Regardless Of What You Think Or Say.
