It has been so hot here in Virginia that the heat will take your breath away. It been in the high 90s. How hot is it where you live?

Where in VA do you live?  I haven't been outside for very long for the past 2 weeks while I recover from surgery.  Alas, all the time spent on this site.

In cool Alaska is only 60 degrees! I used to live in hot cities. Make sure you carry enough water with you...and some snacks. Go to cooling centers: Public libraries or shopping centers with air conditioning. Open your windows at home which are in shady areas. It will cool your house faster.

This week in Forest Grove, Oregon it's 67 to 77 partly cloudy most days and three days with rain or showers.

I am in Austin, Texas.  And it was about 104 yesterday.  It has been over 100 for weeks with no end in site.  And we are in a very serious drought also.  The weather is unbearable.

I live close to Dallas, Texas and it's not any better.  We've been in the 100s the past few days.  They're forecasting 10-20% chance of rain for this weekend, but it will probably only be heat showers.  I just know that I can't wait for summer to be over.

Midwest has been pretty nice this past week in the upper 70's to mid-80's.  However we're in for a heat blast this upcoming week where they're predicting mid-90's to over a 100 for at least a week straight, maybe longer.

It's been cool, windy, and sunny where I'm at this week, but it's suppose to warm up this weekend into next week.

Yeah, I'm Midwest also and just saw this morning we are in for the 'blast furnace' we have managed to avoid. I knew it was inevitable that the front would start moving up toward the Great Lakes where I am. The worst part is having the lake right outside my door, but when the water temp is 80+ it does very little to cool you off. I know I should NOT complain - at least I can get into water (as long as the bacteria counts don't go through the roof) and people stuck in cities/desert areas don't have that option.

It has been hot in MD also. We had a couple of days where the heat and humidity didn't take your breath away.

Here in Tennessee, we've been in the upper 90's for several days.  When you walk outside, it feels like you've walked into an oven.  You can get some good tips on how to stay cool by searching, "how to stay cool in the heat."  For instance, if you run cold water over your wrists for 10 seconds each hand, it will reduce your temperature for roughly an hour. I never heard of that before.  But we need all the help we can get when doing outdoor chores like mowing the grass.
