My boyfriend has been smoking cigarettes for almost 15 years! a definite HEAVY SMOKER! I always pushed the issue of him quitting that bad habit..anyways, February of last year he purchased the "Vapor King Shorty Value", it's a starter kit for like $49.50 at http://store.vapor4life.com and it comes w/ 2 Auto Short Batteries, a wall charger, and one pack of 5 cartomizers (u can choose the flavor and strength), and a carrying case of your choice... check it out! they have ALOT of different kinds of flavors but I suggest you get the "menthol" flavor cuz my bf told me it's waay better than the other crazy flavors (he tried all the other ones and he doesnt like them in his opinion so he's stickin to menthol might be different for u tho) and you can also cho0se the intensity/strength of the cartomizers. If you're a heavy duty smoker like my bf you might wanna get the highest number of strength for the cartomizer. He uses 1 cartomizer a week so every month he only spends $10! U can definitely NOT ONLY SAVE UR HEALTH BUT ALSO SAVE MONEY than buying however many packs of cigarettes a week.. He's been using E-cig for almost a year now and he hadn't touch a cig ever since so it most definitely does the trick  Goodluck and hope this helps  ;)

Try to quit cold turkey, the cost of the electronic devices are high and if you do it by yourself you will be over the urge in a few days.........good luck

i have never been a smoker so i have no personal experience but my sister's fiance was a smoker for 6 years. he tried patches and pills and gum and lozenges and cartomizers and with every one he still ended up back to smoking. then my sister got pneumonia and asked him not to smoke in the house so he threw out his cigarettes and said he was going to quit so that he could take care of her instead. this was 18 months ago and he has not had a smoke since

Its probably different for different people. I know someone who got the e cigarette and he now only smokes a pack a week of real cigarettes as apposed to a pack a day.

A lot of people don't use them to quit altogether, they use them as a healthier alternative. If you decide to do this, over time you will save money. However, you have to buy the ones with nicotine in them. Other ones brag that they don't have nicotine as if it's a good thing. The nicotine is what you're addicted to, but it doesn't actually hurt you.

My daughter bought a starter kit and I tried it out and it really cool.  You still get the nicotine which is a stimulant.  There's no smell and you could virtually smoke them anywhere.  But they have a high start up cost, and many don't like them because you don't have the ritual of lighting a cigarette and flicking the ashes into an ashtray and then extinguishing it when you are finished. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

I've got a friend that has also tried e-cigarettes. He runs a karaoke business and because of the smoking ban in our state, which prohibits smoking in bars, he likes it that he is able to sit on stage running the show while smoking for the nicotine fix. There are a few issues he's had with it, however... The initial startup cost seemed high, but after doing it for awhile, he did see a reduction in his smoking costs in general. He also misses the smell of smoking since these devices only emit water vapor. He said it also feels different, it isn't as warm as from a lit cig. Finally he had first tried a friend's e-cig that had an orange LED on the end, and he was asked to put it away because it looks too much like the real thing, and customers were complaining that they should be able to smoke inside too. He has since then obtained one that has a blue LED, and because it looks different, it's more accepted in different places.

Edit: I forgot to mention one thing... A few of those companies offer affiliate programs, so you might be able to make a little side-income if you can get a group of smoking friends together and purchase products thru you...
