It looks like the former governor of IL is going away to jail for a long, long time. What do you think of this result?

He'll probably appeal the decision, but if he broke the law, then he'll have to pay the price.

He was found guilty on all but three of the charges against him. I just wonder if this will affect Obama's reelection campaign, since some of the guilty charges involve one of his closest advisor, Valerie Jarret (sp?).

You know what is funny.  He basically got convicted for being to blatant.  There has always been unspoken deals, etc.  He just tried to use to much muscle and hard ball.  If he would have just called the WhiteHouse and said who do you want, he would have been rewarded with a plum job in a few years.   He got what he got, by trying to play out of his league!

I can't even begin to understand why someone would do something like this. It makes no sense.

Everyone knew he did, he bragged about it so much. Took long enough though.

It sure took them long enough to convict him.  It was really dragged out.

I'm just glad that there will be something other then him on the news around here now. I do feel bad for his family; mainly his children.

Interesting analysis. He just got too greedy, you think?
