"confirm PIN" offers
« on: December 03, 2010, 07:51:48 am »
Do the offers that make you confirm a PIN on your cell phone (Predict Your Death, etc) ever send you spam or other messages after you do them? I'm interested in doing these but not if they spam you. Has anyone tried them?

Yes, I have tried them.  After I do them, I start getting text messages sent to my phone.  It says I will be charged $9.99 per mo. for texts.  I text them back STOP and that cancels the texts.  Someone on this forum wrote me that as long as I text them back STOP I won't be charged.  I haven't received my cell phone bill yet, so I can not verify that I won't be charged.  Hope this helps.

I will not use my cell phone number because I don't want to be bothered with all the messages and calls. I am not comfortable with it, there are lots of other ways to make money on here. Good Luck!

my best suggestion is just to simply read the fine print before you do the offer. from what bessie said that sounds about right from what i heard from other people who have done the confirm pin offers.

I also wanted to try these offers. But it looks like a sure headache later on. Like canceling or stopping the future text message etc. Didn't want to take the risk. It is always good to hear from others who tried. All the best to people who tried.

I don't recommend those offers. I used to believe by texting stop to them, they stop. Instead, I got billed $150 a month; by that time i'd knew that method didn't work. The advertisers didn't stop there, they start slapping on new fees I'd never authorized. Took me about 3 months to get it under control, so read the fine print before doing offers like these. Don't end up like me  :-

Yeah, they love to solicit you.  I don't understand why they think that we like to pay to get spam texts...but whatever.  I wouldn't suggest it.

in my opinion the incentive for the pin offers isn't enough to even do the offer, it's not worth say 3 dollard for something thats gonna cost 9.99 per month
