Christmas is the time of the year to spend it with your family.  My big extended family has the tradition that we all meet at a host house on christmas EVE (I mean aunts, uncles, cousins, etc.), cook a nice dinner, eat have fun and open presents at midnight, after singin Happy Birthday to Baby Jesus.  The present we open are either exchange presents between family members and/or all the presents from other members of the extended family.  Then on Christmas morning, after we all wake up from a few hours sleep (we might not get home until 2 or 3 am), we open the present at our house, the one under my tree, and the stockings, between parents and kids.  The ones I spend my hard working money and time buying.

Then we have a nice family dinner (small) between my hubby, the girls and I, and my parents when they are in town, and just have a chill and enjoyable time.

Our family Christmas will be done in two celebrations this year.

Our son is deployed in Kuwait, but will be home for 2 week leave starting Dec. 3.  He will be home in time for the birth of his first baby - she will be born on Dec. 8.  They live in Kansas; we live in Minnesota.  So, my husband and I will travel to see our son and his new baby and the rest of his family when his wife and baby come home from the hospital.  We will celebrate Christ's birth as well as the birth of this new grandbaby then.

We will host Christmas for our other 3 kids and their families on Christmas Eve.  We will go to church and then go home for different soups and lefse.
We will open our gifts and then play board games.
We love Pictionary!  Balderdash is another great family game that brings peals of laughter.

Our daughter lives in Wisconsin and we're in TN, we're going to see her during the warmer months and sending her cash for Christmas.
