Thanksgiving dinner

What do you have for Thanksgiving dinner???  We do the traditional Turkey, Dressing, Sweet Potatoes, gravy, rolls, green beans .... pie and cake for dessert.  I will be helping my Mom cook this year because she is now 80 years old and not really able to prepare such a large meal.

We also do a traditional Thanksgiving.  I must say that roasted turkey with gravy is pretty close to being my favorite meal.  I'm no longer there because I retired but the place I used to work screwed up their Thanksgiving meal by messing with the gravy the last couple of years I was there.  I never tasted such nasty stuff.  That chef finally left but by the time Thanksgiving came around again, so had I so I'm not sure if they got back to good.

We do the traditional + spanish flare.  Turkey, ham, mash potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, jam etc.  Also add the rice and plantains to the mix and must of the times add another type of meat for it.  The way we do it is, the hosting family will cook more dishes, but every family will bring a dish or 2 (pot luck style), with the difference that we pre-plan the menu, so nobody has to spend all day or 2 in the kitchen, we end up having so much fun and since everybody cook something, nobody is tired.

we also do a traditional Thanksgiving, but I add a few extras in, such as mini hotdogs cooked in crock pot in barbecue sauce, mustard and currant jelly.   As well as green bean casserole,  cinnamon carrots, coleslaw, and many pies,, yum I am getting hungry already.

Typical Thanksgiving dinner. My mom makes turkey, yams, pumpkin pie and stuffing for her and my dad. But all I eat is the stuffing, I usually have cheese pizza or something like that.

I dunno - it's so foreign - I MISS MY GRANDMA'S COOKING, but I don't go over there for the holidays ever since my parents got divorced.

We used to have the traditional dinner when my mom lived with me but not anymore. Last year I just took it easy at home. They had already had a big dinner at the nursing home and I went to that. I'll probably do the same this year. One good thing is I don't have a lot of cooking and cleaning up to do anymore.
