Antichrist conspiracy
« on: October 19, 2010, 03:03:16 am »
I just read this morning that President Obama, Prince Charles of Wales, and many other influential people around the globe are part of a conspiracy to put into place the pathway for the arrival of the antichrist. Anyone know about this and have any nuggets of truth you can pass on to us all? I knew that the end of days was near, but our president and Prince Charles?

God be with you all.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that - as your title indicates, it's most likely just rumor and conspiracy.  Things like this pop up every few years with zero merit.

For those who believe in this, the real place to keep your eye on is Israel - particularly the 7-year peace treaty that's supposed to signify the beginning of the rise of the antichrist.  The antichrist is portrayed as being an individual who the world will readily accept as a leader for all.

In our present climate, countries are still too well defined and culturally distinct for this to happen in the foreseeable future.  However, with the technology explosion, the thought of a one world bank, or having some kind of "mark" or chip that you use to buy/sell with, or a one world global economy, are no longer far fetched ideas as they may have been 20 years ago.

My advice - don't fall prey to such rumors.  Keep your eye out for world events, re-read the Bible (particularly Revelations), and ask God to help you determine fact from fiction when these types of rumors fly around, and give you a sense of peace about it.  The rumors only serve to create fear in those who take stock in the rumors which only separates you from God.  We are not to be fearful of the end times, but look forward to is as that means Christ will be coming back soon.  If not, we live out, hopefully, a happy life and see him when we pass on from this world.

Wait...I didn't think people actually believed in the antichrist. Really?  ::)
If (and that's a big if) there's a possibility of an antichrist, I don't think he/she/it has been born yet because nobody has been universally accepted as leader. I'm not sure it's conducive to human nature for any one person to ever be universally accepted. Political and cultural differences are a healthy part of how people relate to each other.

I like your answer.  I do have some misgivings with our current president with his not-so-nice attitude toward Israel and with his nonchalance of certain religions here in America, and his tendency to outwardly support muslim religion more.  I just don't feel we should go against Israel (God's chosen.)  I don't want to start anything; it's just my feelings toward certain issues listed.

My way of thinking on it is, it's not my concern.

I used to be all about eschatology and the different theories but quite frankly, it doesn't matter. We are not supposed to figure it out, we are just supposed to live as though Christ coming is right around the corner. Not to live in fear of the end but to live constantly with our Savior in mind.

No one knows for sure everything about the events that will lead up to the end, and there is a lot of false ideas that seem legit, but somehow scare people. The world as we know it coming to an end is not to be feared by those who are saved. If you are afraid, re evaluate your priorities and relationship with God. If your life now is more important to you than God...you need to talk to Him. If you are afraid of the end because you fear hell....you only have to answer one question. Do you know Christ? If you do, then you don't have to fear it!
