Police: Ohio man forced woman to abortion clinic

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Police say an Ohio man who wanted his pregnant girlfriend to get an abortion forced her to drive to a health clinic at gunpoint.

Columbus police say 27-year-old Dominic Holt-Reid became angry with the woman Wednesday because she refused to go through with an abortion scheduled at the clinic earlier in the day.

He was charged with kidnapping and carrying a concealed weapon and is being held in the Franklin County jail. Jail staff did not known whether he had an attorney.

Police say Holt-Reid pulled the handgun from the glove compartment of his girlfriend's car after they dropped off their 5-year-old son at a school.

Officers say they were called by a clinic employee who received a note from the woman.

It wasn't immediately clear how far along the woman's pregnancy was.

That man is insane. He isn't the one carrying the child, so he doesn't get to speak on termination. If that mother wants to keep her child  she has every right to do so!

Ok, now thats disturbing to me. I don't care who you are, how many kids you have, or what planet your from, nobody has the right to force anyone to do something they don't want to do. Obviously this guy is a nut job and very disturbed. Why would he go to such extremes? What was the driving force? One thing is for sure, he will be spending alot of time behind bars contemplating his actions, that is if he has any remorse at all. Something tells me he probably doesn't.

Yeah I agree it is crazy but...
You could say that goes both ways though. If she had agreed to have an abortion and then decided not to she is forcing him to be a father again.
