Routing Code Dilemma Solved
« on: August 26, 2010, 08:42:29 am »
Last month I did not received a payout because issue with the routing code from my bank.  It wasn't FC cash fault it was because that the bank that I set up for direct deposit didn't match the routing code listed with FusionCash.  Members may run into this problem if your routing code from your bank doesn't match with the routing code on file with FusionCash.

How is this possible?  If your bank has several branches throughout the United States they will most likely have more than one headquarter for each region in the United States.  For example, the Northeast area, NY, NJ, PA, etc. maybe under one routing code for that region.  When a check is sent through that headquarter and matches that routing code, it gets deposited because the routing code matches that area therefore; it is assumed  that it is going into the correct account designated to that routing code.  If the routing code for example, was for a Southeast area, FL, GA, VA, etc.  it is going to be rejected and returned.  Why?  Because it doesn't match the routing code for that area and therefore; it would be deposited to the wrong account that happens to have the same account number.  So with that in mind,  if you decide to do direct deposit make sure that your routing code matches the one on file with FusionCash.  Otherwise just stick with getting a check in the mail or PayPal or find an online bank like ING Direct.

Good information for those out there with direct deposit, and great explanation. Thank you! I hope you were able to get your next payment situation cleared up!

@pridegirl88

Yes, I was able to get my payment.  In fact, I had a combined payment.  I just wanted everyone to know that mistakes do happened.  FC is very good with making sure you get paid and they are pretty consistent with paying members.   I didn't want to scare new members of because of this dilemma.  I was somewhat disappointed with not getting paid that month.   So yeah, I had to wait an extra month but I used to work with depositing checks in a lockbox so I know how the routing system work.  I just never thought how valuable that information was outside of working in a check processing department.  Being that I ran into this problem, I thought I would share this information with other members who may have come across the same problem or better yet double-check their routing codes before considering direct deposit.  I got my pay-out!  Here's proof http://www.fusioncash.net/forum.php?topic=17042.msg224054#msg224054.   I'm also glad that everything worked out and that I had an opportunity to share this information.
