Proud new Granny
« on: August 06, 2010, 05:29:38 am »
I have seen my new grandson 3 times and he is the most beautiful baby.  I wish my sons wife liked me a little more - maybe I could see him a little more often.  I am so thankful he is healthy and that all went well but at the same time I am very depressed.... maybe because I know I won't get to see him much ??  I'm not sure but seems all I do is cry anymore.

Congrats!!  On another note I'm sorry about the problem with daughter-n-law.  Have you tried to sit down with her to ask what or why she has a problem with you.  If you know what is wrong then maybe it can be fixed.  Try sitting down with out being judgmental and see if y'all can work it out.  Sounds like you need this and she probably does also.   :cat:

Congrats! You should sit down with your sons wife and try to patch things up, and explain to her that you are supportive and there for them and want to be able to see your grandbaby. I hope all goes well.

:cat:  Congratulations on your new grandson!  I have 2 granddaughters ages 5 and 2 yrs. of age.  We are in a similar situation with our dtr-in-law.  It hasn't done very much to talk with her.  However, it's really her mother's influence over her that causes a lot of the problems.  If she doesn't communicate with her mom for awhile, we all do much better.  As soon as her mom talks with her again, it's to sway her against us.  Our son does his best to try to keep a tab on things, but he's in the middle of things and  I don't want problems for him.  We just try to bite our tongues and show her love and kindness through it all and try to be consistent in our attitude toward her and her mom.  Maybe one day, things will turn around and be great!  We just love our family and love being grandparents!
I really hope things will improve for you.  Hang in there and keep us posted, okay?  :)
