Going to the Zoo
« on: August 10, 2010, 05:47:04 pm »
I took my grandchildren to the zoo today. It was the first time the 3 and 2 year old ever been and the  6 year old was his 2nd time. These kids had the best time, then we took them on a picnic. We did spend that much but we all had a great time. Has anyone else took their kids too the zoo this summer?

I know kids love the zoo!  It's especially fun when they offer a show of some kind like a dolphin, seal, or bird show.  Look into buying a seasona membership.  Often you pay for it in just two trips and it's a lot of never ending fun for the kids that is afforable for parents/grandparents.

We met our son and his family at the Omaha Zoo in April since it is "half way" between Minnesota and Kansas.

It was our last time to see him before he deployed to Kuwait.

We had a VERY good time at the zoo, even though our daughters were disappointed that the big cats weren't on display yet in April.

My boyfriend and i had the chance to take our daughter to the zoo and it would have been free to get in. The NICU had a reunion and we planned to go but due to her being put into the hospital, the doctor said it wouldn't be a good idea to take her.

I Went to the zoo with my daughter and her summer camp class earlier last month and we had a blast! I think it's great for the kids because they get to see all the animals that they usually see on TV or in their books. I know my 3 year old was so excited. She came home with a stuffed monkey and talking about Curious George the whole time! We had a blast! ;D
