Election Day

Boy what a long day! Court of appeals judge on the ballot, that's it. We've been here since 6:30 am and have had 4 voters. What a waste of taxpayer dollars. We will be here until after 8pm tonight. LONG, LONG day.

  my parents used to be responsible for counting ballots when I was little (before computerized ballots) and I remember my mom saying that it was always a lot of time and taxpayers $$ spent for only the few people that come out to vote for some of the 'little' elections.

I agree, I think they should have a couple "central" voting areas in each county that all the communities take turns staffing instead of each municipality having to open their own polling place. It cost us $500 just in poll worker wages, not including my overtime hours to be there 14 or more hours.
