Gift Wrapping ideas

I am looking for gift wrapping ideas...I am tired of the same old store bought wrapping paper.
Any ideas?

brown paper bags work well and you can decorate with crayons or markers (or have kids do this)
also I like using the comic section of the newspaper.

I have also used freezer paper in the past (it is white) and then you can decorate it how you would like - you could even make a collage with various pictures from magazines or from previous years christmas cards

Years ago, we made our our gift bags.  Using brown sacklunch bags,  cut out a design on one side.  Tape either colorful gift wrap or fabric behind that opening so your design is now the color/pattern of the gift wrap or fabric you chose.

We made mini snowflakes out of white paper and glued them to the plain brown bags.

You can dress up gifts with bags, tissue paper, different ribbon styles, you could also save comics from newspapers, you could use tyedyed fabric for all that matters, use your imagination and experiment.
