A Christmas Story

This is a Christmas story. Sort of a round robin.  I will start it and the next person adds a bit and we will see where we are on Christmas Eve.

It was a cold, clear mountain day.  But, he could tell buy looking up toward the peaks that a snow might come before nightfall.  Well, he'd have to work fast to get back to the ranch in time to get cleaned up to go into town.  Just a little more feeding to take care of and then he would head in.  The hot bath would sure feel good and he was looking forward to the joining in the Christmas celebration at the little town over the mountain.  Once he was there he wouldn't care if it did snow all night.  He had some little things he wanted to get in town anyway.

So he got cleaned up, put on the new shirt he'd been saving.  Told the others so long, the saddled up and headed down to the road that led through mountain pass to town 10 miles away.  The skies were still clear and crisp but it was getting just down right cold.........
