They were trying to "cute up the kids" that whole time too.

girl allegedly reading charlotte's web.

"And then he took the axe and (whatever she says, probably not in the book anyway)...DAT's NAWD'A NICE..."

If that swayed anyone, it's because they are that easy. Could sell them a quarter for a buck.

If you want proven (though dated) help with your potential C students, get them Muzzy instead.

Reading is such an important skill, it has to be worth trying. You really have nothing to lose and you only get one chance when they are young. I hope it works.

I have seen that commercial too.  I don't know how much the program is or if it works.

I read to my kids alot.  They were good readers.

Our son was bored though in school, but he has turned out quite well.  He is still an avid reader

ohh, c'mon!
i highly doubt warren78218's child, or any other, will be left out
because he or she is TOO smart. i don't even have kids,
but jump starting them doesn't seem like a bad idea at all.

besides, these days, with all the programs like this,
you're probably doing the exact same thing as other parents.
a few friends of mine have had kids within the past few years
and it doesn't seem like they want their children AHEAD of anyone.
they just want to help them excel...

i can understand the negative side of this, if we're talking about
the type of *bleep* parents who do absolutely nothing but force
their children into learning/reading/etc...

but i see nothing wrong with this.
all the best of luck to you &your baby

I agree, my daughter is 6 years old now and she reads my computer monitor as fast as I can type it. She is beyond the simple "*bleep* and Jane" books as well. We started her off with flashcards and building blocks. I do not think that getting them started early is bad for them. Right now, our biggest concern with her schooling is if she is going to be accepted into our local magnet school.

Hope this helps.

i've heard both sides of this thing... there is no guarantee that it'll make your baby read. it's just dinky flash cards and a dvd showing the word and action as someone says the word.
