I don`t support abortions at all, if anything it should only be adptions. Its better this way to have adptions only, then people that can`t have a child could have a chance to have one.

this works out all fine and dandy for the couple that gets to adopt the baby, but what about the woman (or young unwed teenage girl) that is forced to have it? and what about abortions in cases where it is a danger to the woman to have it? or a woman with disease or genetic defect that will inevitably be passed on to the poor baby? you can't guarantee that someone will want to adopt a baby that has a disease or defect.

i think the decision of abortion versus adoption lies with each individual woman and she should not be judged based on her choice. and i very strongly believe that god and religion have no part in this.

furthermore, i am happily married and have two beautiful children that i love more than anything but i know that if i were to become preganant any time soon, my husband and i would be discussing this very topic!

no. if i stepped on my soapbox and started talking about why i say no in full detail, i'd be here all day lol. but no, i don't think abortions should be covered by our taxes. MY money should not have to go toward terminating an unwanted pregnancy they ended up with from having sex. if they don't want to get pregnant, refrain from sex. yes, no sex. i think if you're willing to participate in an act, then you should also be willing to deal with any possible consequences, and with sex, that includes pregnancy. i'll leave it at that.

NO, I do not support abortions...especially paying for it through taxpayers money. That is like paying someonee to murder your
mother or wife or husband. They have lives and every life is created by God. Individuals attempt to justify murder by proclaiming
that at a certain develpmental stage, there is no life. Life begins at conception.

It is absolutely nothing like someone murdering a relative -.-  Pardon my language, but are you f'ing serious?  You seriously can't see the distinction between a 20 week old fetus and an individual who has a job, relationships, responsibilities, etc.?

There isn't a single person on this planet who legitimately argues an abortion doesn't end life (anyone who does shouldn't be listened to).  They're living cells and tissues inside a living being.  Everybody knows it's alive.  That isn't the issue at all in this debate.

It would do you well to look a bit more into the structure of this entire debate before saying silly things or arguing about things that aren't even important on this topic (ie whether a fetus is alive or not).

But just for fun, could you describe "conception" to me without looking it up?

God has everything to do with it if it weren`t for God you wouldn`t be here nor would I. God wanted to create life not destroy life, by having abortions done thats what these women are doing Destroying life. Why destroy and lets save lives, we can debate this all nite i will never agree thats its right to have abortions in anyway. Abortions should be aganist the law.

There is literally zero purpose in having a discussion with you.  Why would you make a thread on a forum about a controversial issue if this is going to be your position?  How old are you, may I ask?

Abortion should NOT be covered by tax dollars. It is the persons own mistake to take such a stupid risk. On top of that, abortion is not right. Millions of dollars are spent to save babies in the womb, puppies inside a mother, etc and here they want to kill something that is alive. How would you like if that happened to you, they didn't care just because you were a baby? EVERYONE you know was a baby at some point, aren't I right?

Anyways.. I don't want to start a fight, and you should stop, we got our opinions in, don't fight with each other.

Abortions are going to occur whether you approve or not.  Abortions are going to occur whether they're illegal or not.  They can be done by medical professionals with the safety of the woman in good hands or they can be done by some random, unregulated guy in an alley with a hanger.  Take your choice.

You just killed trillions of living organisms by sitting down in your chair and typing on your keyboard.  I'm pretty certain you've masturbated?  Mass murderer!  How many females over age 14 do you know that aren't pregnant? Monthly murderers!  Toss them all in jail please.

I wouldn't know anything about it, so I can't say it would make much of a difference to me.

Brilliant point against abortion, I must say!

Nobody is fighting.  It's a discussion on a discussion forum.

Adoption is not a better option for the mother.
She still has to go through a pregnancy that hurts her, a lot, and for nothing.

In the case of rape I think taxes should pay for abortions.
If it wasn't rape, the women can pay for it themselves. It's their own fault.

first of all, your statement that if it weren't for god we wouldn't be here is entirely your opinion. and i'll believe that abortion is wrong when "god" comes to my door and tell me it is. since we all know that's not going to happen, to continue my point, you say that an abortion is a woman destroying a life. but a woman can actually destroy 2 lives, or even more, by having a baby she didn't want. she's ruining her own life, and the child's if she really doesn't want it and doesn't care for it, and that can go on and on ruining the lives of the baby's father if he didn't want a baby, and the lives of her family who might not want to accept this unwanted child. i know that all of that sounds horrible and i wish that there weren't people like that but there are, and in those cases i don't think these people should have their babies. and back to the baby, how do you think that child will feel, growing up knowing that his mother didn't want him? how will that child feel when he learns that if it weren't for some high-and-mighty people making abortion illegal he would never have been born? how will he feel knowing that hismom didn't want him and that his brith has ruined her life? that sounds like a lot of pain that could have been prevented with an abortion.

and finally, for someone who says they don't want to judge, you sure do sound judgemental.

and i feel like i should point out that i never said that abortions should be covered by our tax dollars. i only got involved in this topic because of some of the ignorant reasoning and opinions that abortions should be illegal althogether.

as for those people against our tax dollars paying for abortions, i hate to tell you that, in a way, they already do. our tax dollars pay for public assistance and medi-cal, and, depending on where you live, medi-cal will cover an abortion. and our tax dollars also fund government programs, programs that in turn fund things like planned parenthood. and, again depending on where you live and your personal financial situation, you can get an abortion at planned parenthood for free or reduced cost. so it looks like all those against abortion may have been paying for it all along...
