I firmly believe that movies are so suggestible that many people learn from them, whether it's committing a crime or being inspired to greatness or being unfaithful, etc. They often portray really bad things as glamorous and exciting and sometimes show how one can become someone better than they ever thought they could become.

So influential in so many ways, just like the internet and particularly social media.

It can be really, really good  or really, really bad. :bad:

This is really crazy.  You have to be careful at all times and things still happen.

Seems like this stalker created his obsession more from sharing the ride than social media.  I think social media aided in feeding the obsession but didn't create it- although a LOT of obsessions are formed through social media.  I agree with your POV; we have to be very careful of what we share online.  Not just because of possible stalkers but also because posting certain things can follow us throughout life if it depicts us in a certain way and also because said depiction can deflect (or create) opportunities.

I have to agree; even people we've been friends with since elementary can turn out to be unruly or creeps.

Some people are just jerks. Online or off you really have to be careful who you be friends with because sometimes those people are not your friends at all. Some love & live to mess with other peoples lives

It is like people are brainwashed. You are right in how easily SOME people are influenced by what they see on tv, the media, social media, whatever. There was a kid in my home town died a few weeks ago trying to do a tic tok challenge.  There was another one almost died just a few days ago. But if you try to tell kids don't do this stupid stuff they roll their eyes at you. Even when they know kids that have died. It is almost like they don't realize this person is DEAD! FOREVER!

When this happens usually the comment you made is taken out of context anyway. I know people have lost jobs because of a comment they made on something 20 years ago. It is sad that people are that vindictive and that they would try so hard to ruin somebody else's life.
