Just curious - do you still try to look pretty for your husband?  I remember before my Hubby and I were even dating (we worked together) and I knew we would be working together I would make sure to look my best.  So.. now.. I mean, I would like to think I don't look like a complete slob but I don't go all out like I used to.  The only time I really do my makeup is if we're going to church or somewhere with friends.  I used to straighten my hair but I don't do that anymore which, I know he loves it but I have naturally curly hair and, honestly, I kind of like it straight but I also feel naked.. like.. with my curly hair I feel safe and covered and less noticed (if that makes any sense).  Now what I will do on a daily basis is get dressed and make sure my hair is presentable.. I kind of try to look good enough to where if I needed to run to the store I wouldn't really need to get ready.  If it isn't good enough for the strangers in public then it shouldn't be good enough for my Hubby, either.  I mean, if I'm going to try and impress anyone it should be my Hubby, am I right?

Well, my husband has seen me drunk and puking my guts out, so I can only look better from there. Even if I don't shower for 3 days.  ;D

Coming from a husband's perspective, my wife rarely wears any makeup - only a few times a year when we are going out for something very special. Because it is so infrequent, she looks normal on most days, but looks like an absolute knockout when she wears makeup!
 :glasses-nerdy:

We used to have a secretary at work who wore a lot of makeup everyday and I will admit that she was an attractive lady (this was before I was married - so I can safely say that). There were a few occasions when she did not wear any makeup and I was so used to seeing her with it, that when she didn't wear any, she really looked rough and downtrodden.

When you are used to seeing a lady without makeup and she puts just a small bit on - look out! But when you are used to seeing someone always with it on and they don't keep up appearance - it's a much more dramatic change for the worse.

It is all about perspective, but I prefer my wife's way of looking nice on a daily basis and then looking smoking hot for special occasions! I try to explain this dynamic to my teenage daughter who is just starting to get into her own with regard to makeup. Less is More!

Hope I don't offend any ladies with that perspective. I know that many of you are judged so harshly on your appearance.

No, I don't do anything special to look pretty for him.   I always do my best to look presentable (I do not wear make up).

We've been married for over 35 years and I've never heard any complaints.  :) :) :) :)

I try to be showered and looking presentable every day. I am working at staying at a good weight, although being 50 has killed my metabolism. Ugh. I usually only wear make up when we go out or go to church. I do think it is important to try and look nice.

Oooh, really?!  I'm 30 and I struggle to stay a healthy weight.  I have to make sure I make a conscious effort every day to eat or I'll be 10 lbs underweight.  People say, "Oh, must be nice!" but I feel like it's just like someone struggling with obesity, just the other direction.  Sometimes I get anxious because I think, 'Darn.  Gotta force feed myself again even though I'm not hungry.'  It's hard sometimes.
