Meat rubs & spices

What spices or rubs or marinades can you put on meat that's different? I have a few grillmates that are fine but I'm tired of. There only seem to be the same few flavors out there. Do you ever make some yourself?

I absolutely LOVE the McCormick brand marinades.  They have a Mesquite marinade that is absolutely delicious on chicken.  I also love their garlic and wine marinade.  And when I want to jazz things up a bit, they have a korean barbecue mardinade, smokey ranchero, island woodfire grill, and many more!!
