Rant for the day-

I am trying to understand why a survey asks to be completed by your 8 year old child.  Have your 8 year old child take over now.  The next question: What is the annual salary of your house hold?  What 8 yr old child is going to be able to know things like this?  Or asking questions about service providers for different things in your home.  Most kids know there is cable and internet but who the provider is and how much is paid - they do not know this.

Just makes me wonder about the ya-hoos behind writing these surveys.

That is a little strange.  I have never gotten too far with that survey because I don't have any one in my house that age.

You can't say "mom says".  It is not open ended questions.  It is pick one of these.  I just find it odd that it says turn the survey over to your 8 year old child NOW and then starts asking questions like that.

Right. Most young children also do know how the service provider for internet, phone, and various things like that.  My fav was when asked to turn the survey over to the female teenager in the house and then asked "do you do all of the grocery shopping for your household" and "how many children do you have".  smh  And they want full attention from the survey taker but cannot be bothered to give their full attention to make sure the survey makes sense. lol

This is not a one time thing.  I have seen this many times after being asked to turn the survey over to a child.

Never see one for a 8 year old to take by themselves but have seen many for a 16 year old.  I let my 16 year foster child take them but she always has to ask me about certain things so they are really not doing them on their own.

There is nothing wrong with allowing a child to take a survey. Especially if you are there with them. You could ask the same question - who would themselves be a part of the nonsense of doing surveys?   ALL of the surveys that are for a minor as for permission and ALL of them encourage the adult to monitor.  I just think it is odd that it says have the child take over now.  Then starts asking about income.  Or service providers.  Most kids do not know that info.
