Nature vs. Nurture

Which do you think has the greatest influence on someone's behavior and why?  Do you think your genetic make-up or your environment is the most responsible for how someone turns out? I'll be honest, it is a complex question that can be debated either way but I would just like to read others' opinions.

Bad association spoils useful habits.But that can pertain to our environment and also our behavior recognizing it and our freedom of choice doing the right thing.

So i think both can play a role in our behavior.

Both play a role but I think environment is most influential....kids model the behavior of parents and those around them..."apple doesn't far fall from the tree" as they say......

By nature I assume you mean the surrounding the child is brought up in.  To nurture is to care for and +encourage the growth and development.  I'm afraid you couldn't have any nurturing unless you had the right nature.  It isn't one or the other but I believe the nature can't be as fruitful if there isn't any nurturing with it.

I think genetic makeup and environmental factors both play a role in a person's behavior. You can't just say that it is nature alone or nurture alone that does it.

I think nurturing is more influential.  If you have good, caring role models I think that can be more influential than anything else.  Not to say nature is not an important factor too.

I just can't come up with one or the other.  I have known people who incredibly hard upbringing who turned out great and people (my sister and brother) for one who had a good upbringing bringing and didn't turn out so good.  I don't know what makes the difference I truly don't.

Its really a combination of the two but nurture definitely plays a more impactful role just not necessarily in a causal way like people would expect.

I think both can be a little responsible for either.  Or some people are just bad or good and it has nothing to do with the individual.
