As you know I rescue pets, I have 5 dogs and several (not giving amount) cats.  I have 8 litter boxes and scoop the litter 4 - 5 times a day, use clumping litter, and once a week I empty all boxes, wash and spray with Natures Miracle.  I don't have the urine smell you are talking about.  Do you ever empty the litter and clean the box?  I don't understand how it can be so bad with 1 cat, but I do thank you for keeping your baby inside.

I don't use a mask or anything to scoop the litter.  My granddaughter is a snowflake about the cat box and she'll want gloves and everything.  I don't think it's a big deal.  Just scoop it out and be done with it, especially with clumping litter.

I use a mask because I have allergies really bad and I can't take the urine smell.

I just go in and clean the litter without a hassle.

The one thing that I don't miss about having cats is having to clean the litter box out. The smell is pretty bad to say the least. :-X

the Litter-Robot—the automatic, self-cleaning litter box is very expensive, and is selling for over $500. I think you should search for coupons and purchase during Black Friday or cyber monday deals...

I don't have a litter box in the house anymore.  It left when the last child moved out (got married).

I don't miss the box.  Every once in awhile, I do miss the cat though.

I don't currently have cats but I used to always manually clean their litter-box.

Litter boxes are one of the reasons I don't have a cat.
