I'm like you. I just buy one nice bag for under $100 and use it until it starts to fall apart. But my husband loves to buy me designer bags. Lately, he's been buying 2 or 3 at a time and coming home with them. I've been letting him give me one, which I will use forever, and taking the rest back.

I have a total of four bags. One that I use very regularly. One that I use that is nicer/smaller. One that has great pockets for when I travel. And one that I use when I need to carry a bit more, usually only use in summer. I got rid of all my other ones.

I have several bags because I like variety.  I have paid more than $100 for a purse.  I don't carry one purse until it's worn out.  I like colors, depth and the look of a purse.  I have never carried a purse until it was falling apart.  Seems tacky to me.

I have a couple and  if I didn't  need one, I would never  have one.  But I  also  don't like to carry in my clutch purse with all of the  information in  and   lay it down and loose it.  If I am going shopping here in our little town I just grab my debit card and go. Well for get it I do need my  driver's license . So 2  cards.

I currently have 4 handbags hanging up for frequent use but I usually just grab my one particular bag.  I have about another 20 that I plan to go through for decluttering.

I've learned that buying things just because they're on sale is not a good idea; you're still spending money you wouldn't otherwise spend.  It's only a deal when it was something you were going to buy anyway or something that's been on your wish list for a while.
