It's always hard when we lose a beloved pet. Somehow the idea that they are no longer suffering doesn't make it any better, does it?
Maybe it's too soon, but consider honoring the memory of you cat and adopt another one in need of a home. It's not replacing if you are saving the life of a shelter cat who might not have much time.
That is really a good suggestion and i almost did it right after we lost Penny this past July. When i see and hear some of the animal cruelty stories you dont know how i wish i had the power to help them all.But the fact we could save 1 is still an accomplishment.I know we saved Penny from a horrible life and what a turn around she had for 10 yrs.I just wish it could have been a few yrs more.
Hitch, I was like you, praying Harry would die so I wouldn’t have to make the decision, but he didn’t. I promise I will get another cat, but I want to wait until Heidy passes. The vet said in a few weeks. It will be 2 more rescues with sad stories. I hate to say this, as people will roll their eyes, but I have 5 dogs and usually 10 to 12 cats. Yes, before anyone objects they are all taken excellent care. Up to date on shots, cats are indoor only, I have 1 acre of fenced in yard so dogs can run. Actually, can anyone else say they have their vet’s home and cell #. I have sadly had to call in the middle of the night and once on Easter and was met at the hospital, so they are loved and taken care of, so please don’t anyone write and blast me for having too many.
