ever use this for selling things. suppose to sell online and if they want contact you. then have a front door meeting or porch. exchange item for cash. my son sold a bike  that way. would like to only do it when hes home . only heard a few bad things like someone wanted to pay less when they got to the front door. my house doesn't have anything of value just a lot of books. ther're are other sites like this now.

I just sold a TV on Facebook Marketplace and it went smooth. I also have used Craigslist, Offerup and Ebay.
I just had a look at Letgo and it might be worth trying next time, so thanks.

I would never let them come to my home.  Our county does the online yard sale thing thru Facebook and their meeting place is a local drug store which has a large parking lot.

As for sites like Craig's list I would not be comfortable with someone coming to my home and would be leery of even meeting them in public.

I have sold things on Facebook Marketplace before. One lady ask me to meet her at a local store parking lot. I agreed and brought my husband with me. She also had her husband with her. The transaction went smoothly. Actually, I felt better meeting them in the parking lot than I did of a young couple which came to my house to buy my used washer and dryer.

One of my friends found a decent computer on letgo.  I've never sold anything on there.  I mostly use craigslist or local Facebook groups.

I have heard of primarily Craig's List (which to me is kind of scary) I wouldn't want strangers coming to my house.  I have a very large roll top desk I would like to sell but to see it because of the size and weight they would have to come in and I can't see doing that in a million years.

Haven't heard of it until now. I don't think I would be using it. It's scary to meet absolute strangers. Of course you can set up a crowded place per say, but still nerve wrecking for me.

I've sold a lot of stuff on Ebay, But now what I have are mostly heavy furniture and  a lot of other antiques. But am not ready to sell them yet. But am very lucky that my cousin's son ha an antique store and so  does an ex boss in a different town. But will be willing to come and look and buy  when I need to sell them. But right now I  don't want too and hubby doesn't want to also. It is still hard to let  go of al of the past of our families. But if something  happens to one or the other of us we will do it. Have no one  to leave it too.

I don’t know if that is something I would consider.

The thread reminds me of the old saying, "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained"

Since we moved to our new shared home, my son has cycled through several versions of leather furniture for his living room all from Internet sites. He ended up not liking any of it, but he now has enough to buy a brand new Lazy Boy set (that fits his likes perfectly) and pay for it from the profits made by reselling the ones he didn't like.
