I've used Whirlpool for years and have never had any problems.

I had a Maytag washer and dryer over 50 years. I inherited them from my uncle. When the washer gave out, I went to Whirlpool and I've had it 25 years. I had to replace the doohickey that makes it run when the top is closed, cost $30 and easy fix but otherwise no problem.

As for the Maytag dryer,  had that as long. During the youngest son's days living at home. he did his own laundry. Left a butane lighter in his pocket...thank heavens I had a smoke alarm in the hallway where the washer and dryer were kept. Fire dept. kept the fire to the dryer.  So I know have a Kenmore dryer. No problems so far.

Guy at the appliance repair store where we got the part of the washer said to keep any older appliances as long as possible because the new ones are made to wear out in 10-15 years if not sooner.

There are a lot of good washing machines out there.  I prefer Maytag, they work consistently without any problems.

GOOGLE: HR washers and expand all the questions "People also ask".
Front loaders are the best because they lack the center
spinning tower that damages so many clothes.
I hope you find all the answers you are looking for.

I had a GE that came with my house, I bought a brand build home 20 years ago, it lasted maybe 15 years or so.  Now I have an LG that I absolutely love and hope it last me for a long time.  But I really thing it depends on what you want, want you can afford and your own preferences.  I know people that swears that Kenmore are the best, and I know people that told me that it was bad.  I really think is just your luck.  I have had to replace everything but the refrigerator in my house, all GE, stove died about 3 years ago, fridge it going but on life support.  I have a neighbor with exactly the same appliances as mine and his are still going strong.

So as far as brands go just look for what you want on it and how much you can afford.

I had a Kenmore for over 30 years and it was great.  Bought a Samsung about 3 years ago and wish I didn't.  Sorry I did not go back to another Kenmore.

yah know i have never understood this question.. as well as what is the best fridge.. or dishwasher.. doesn't all appliances no matter what the brand do the same thing?? Don't get me wrong.. i am sure their may be a diffrence... I just don't know it.. or understand the question behind it.. because to me a washer is a washer.. the brand doesn't matter to me as long as my clothes come out nice and clean :)

LOL, I thought the same thing BUT. Some have told me to stay away from Samsung and well as LG. The fridges and washing machines and even cars are not made like they use to be many many years ago. hence the question :)
