SNOW!

I live  in the flat lands of Colorado, about forty five minutes from the mountains. We have had three snow 'storms in the last two weeks. The last one, about ten days ago, caused some havoc on the morning drive in. My kids have been up to the mountains the last three weeks for skiing and they said that the conditions were awesome until a few days ago. They got up to the mountains nice and early (surprising for college kids on break), skiid all day until four in the afternoon. On the way home they ran into a huge storm that closed the highway down to one lane. The normal drive time is less than two hours. It took them four and a half hours to get home. There are two mountain passes between the good ski hills and my home. The state patrol had to close the passes every thirty minutes or so due to the conditions.

Nice to see the snow when I am not traveling.

I am dreading the snow.  I worry about animals' safety, the roads are impossible, people here in VA panic and the stores sell out of water, milk, and bread. LOL Thankfully, heavy snowfall doesn't usually begin until January. Fingers crossed!

Snow is cool but I wish it would just wait long enough for me to finish raking my yard.
